New Complaint from Current Residents

We received more complaints and more evidence of the horrendous living conditions at the Heights at Lenox and are posting the letters we received below.

"I totally agree with your website title. I hate this place as well. I will be breaking my lease within the first half of 08. I only wish there was a way I could do it and not have to pay an early termination fee. I live in bldg A.

What about the hot water being out for 6 days?! I wrote a letter and hand delivered it to the office. The letter requested a $20 per day rent credit for each day the hot water is out. The office staff told me too bad; it's not their fault; they're not doing anything for the residents. I tried reporting this to the health dept but had great difficulty finding a way to contact them. I also called the Channel 2 news and wrote an email to AJC but no responses from either of them yet.

About the housing projects / ghetto life style.... this past week in either A-305 or 205 at approximately 1:20 am the music began very loud. Then I guess the people had too much to drink and began to argue. Which continued until 3 am. I think the only reason it stopped then was because the woman kept telling the man to leave and he must have left. A domestic dispute.

Last night the person living below me in A-303 began playing her music so loud that the walls of my bedroom shook. The music continued until 4 AM. Obviously this person doesn't work a regular schedule either. I left a message with the office. Let's see if they do anything. Although I'm sure they won't. I've been told before that they pull the files to see if there have been any other complaints before the office staff does anything.

Regardless of who the office staff is or has been, there's one common theme. Provide the residents with NO customer service. Would that attorney like to add another person to the list of represented?"

My son lived at the Lenox apts. Until today, Dec. 31st, 2007……..and it is disgusting……..not only is it cockroach infested but they did not have hot water for a month…..and no one cared!!  Management basically does nothing to clean this place up.   My son's apartment got broken into due to a faulty look on the sliding glass doors and his computer got stolen!!  No one did anything about fixing that lock etc…..this is a horrible place……….and today he is moving out and they are threatening to keep his security deposit and charge him for clean up when he can't even stand to be in the place due to all the roaches and just disgust!!  So good look with this law suit and thank God you are taking a stand.

If you would like to voice your opinion , pls e-mail us at hatlenox@yahoo.com and we will be happy to publish it here.

Keep fighting. The community at the Heights at Lenox is now uniting strongly to expose the true conditions of living in the apartment complex. Things have continued to get worse since we started this movement and we welcome all of you to join us in holding management accountable.

  • Natuma,

I came across your blog by accident and was drawn in by what I read. I stayed in the ATL metro area on and off back in 99-2000 with the intention of moving here from Pennsylvania. While researching apartments, The Heights was one of the residences I looked at. At the time, it appeared to be a very decent place to live, especially given it's access to DT ATL and other ammenities in the Buckhead area.

After a lot of soul searching and a myriad of other reasons which included the offer of a decent job I decided not to remain in Atlanta, and headed back north and settled in the Washington, DC area. I have relatives in ATL and visit whan possible. Looking back, however, I have no regrets in my decision not to live down here.

I am really sorry that you and your fellow DECENT tennats have to live in such unsanitary, filthy and threatening conditions with low-lifes who just don't care.

Furthermore, it's disheartening to see what was once a nice place deteriorate into a virtual hellhole. It's also sad to see that the entertainment district of Buckhead has turned into a place to be avoided at all costs on the weekends.

Everything you wrote is true, and that same kind of crap goes on in other places as well. Nothing racist about it, as it is what it is.

Even though I am hundreds of miles away, I still support you in your efforts to secure a safe, clean and hospitable living environment.

  • Oh why did I not see this site before I moved to the Heights at Lenox!??

I moved out on Sunday and even though I am further away from downtown, I am so happy to no longer live there.

Cockroaches ... I just cannot stand cockroaches and building F was overrun with them!

To potential residents ... a name change is not going to make a difference. Stay away from this place.
